With TouchMapper, you can map gamepad input to touch events on the screen without rooting your device. This application is intended for Android TV users without touch screens who may want to play games that only accept touch input. A copy of the GNU General Public License, version 3 (GPLv3) is included with the program.
As another reason to use it on Android TV, you'll have to keep a computer connected to the device via ADB while you are using the touch mapper, and the easiest way to do that would be to run ADB over WiFi, otherwise you'll need to keep a USB connected to the device at all times.
A desktop application is available that automates all the steps needed to run the adb commands to make it easier.
