What is generative AI?
AI that generates extraordinary results from text and other inputs is known as generative AI. A lot of attention has been given to AI images and art generation, but generative AI can generate much more than static images based on text. Anyone can create videos, documents, digital experiences, and rich images and art, just by using a few simple words and the right AI generator. As well as adding to or forming the foundation of content, AI art generators are excellent for producing "creative building blocks" such as brushes, vectors, and textures.
How does Adobe ensure that AI-generated images are created responsibly?
Our initial commercial Firefly model is being trained on licensed content, such as Adobe Stocks and public domain content where copyright has expired, as part of Adobe's effort to design Firefly to be commercially safe. In addition, Adobe has established the industry standard for responsible generative AI as a founding member of the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI). The CAI is a community of media and tech companies, non-profits, academics, and others dedicated to promoting open industry standards for content authenticity.
A technical standard has been developed by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), which provides publishers, creators, and consumers with a way to identify the origin of media types.
