A process of updating voter data is being conducted as part of the preparations for the local head election (Pilkada 2024).
In light of this, the General Election Commission (KPU) released regulations and decisions regarding the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada. The following is an explanation of the e-coklit Pilkada 2024:
What is the 2024 Regional Election E-Coklit?
Quoting KPU Regulations (PKPU), matching and research, hereinafter referred to as coklit, are activities carried out by Voter Data Updating Officers (Pantarlih/PPDP) in updating voter data by meeting voters directly and based on improvements from neighborhood associations (RT) and citizen associations (RW) or other names and additional voters.
A similar electronic-based application system, e-coklit, is used by the KPU for matching and research processes as well as voter data updating activities. It can be accessed at https://ecoklit.kpu.go.id/. The KPU uses E-coklit to obtain valid voter data for general and regional elections.
Election Coklit Activities
Following is Coklit's involvement in the implementation of the election (Pilkada 2024), namely, improving the voter list:
- Utilize the Model A.A-KWK form to record voters who meet the requirements but have not yet been registered on the voter's list
- Errors in voter data should be corrected
- Removing deceased voters
- A voter who has moved to another area should be removed from the voting rolls
- The voting status of civilians who have changed to members of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) or Indonesian National Police (Polri) should be eliminated.
- A voter who is not yet 17 (seventeen) years old and who is not yet married or married at the time of voting should be eliminated
- Delete voter information that has been confirmed to be invalid
- Disqualify voters whose mental/memory problems are based on a medical certificate
- Remove voters whose voting rights have been permanently revoked as a result of a court decision
- Information regarding voters with special needs should be recorded in the column for disability type
- A voter who is not a resident of the area in which the election is being held should be removed from the voting process.
