Why?
We have made significant progress in improving both the accuracy and performance of Yuzu over the last year. The longer we waited, the more challenging it would become for us to support an Android build with so many improvements in progress.
Yuzu will account for, and address, both platform and feature compatibility with Android with the release of this public release. We expect this to facilitate and streamline our development process so we can achieve platform independence more quickly.
YUZU welcomes Android developers to contribute their expertise and create new features, optimizations, and improvements.
The state of things: Where are we? Users can expect what?
To clarify a few things before we talk more about where we are and what users can expect:
- We are committed to improving our Android builds, including feature parity, compatibility, and performance; most of the improvements we make for desktop platforms, including Windows and Linux, will also benefit Android users.
- As Yuzu Android is in rapid development, early builds should be considered beta versions.
- A variety of results will be presented regarding compatibility and performance on different devices.
Let's get into the state of Yuzu Android now.
