A medieval strategy game featuring in-depth city building, Manor Lords
The game enables you to experience life as a medieval lord, managing resources and production chains and expanding your lands through conquest.
Taking inspiration from Franconia's art and architecture of the late 14th century, Manor Lords uses historical accuracy in both gameplay mechanics and visuals. As a result, the world feels more authentic, colorful, and believable by avoiding common medieval tropes and focusing on historical accuracy.

CITYBUILDING IN AN ORGANIC WAY
With Manor Lords, you can build cities in a gridless, organic way, with full freedom to place and rotate, but using snapping tools to ease planning.
The building mechanic is inspired by the growth of real medieval towns and villages, where major trade routes and landscape often influenced the shape and development of settlements.
HISTORICAL REALITY
While the game does not take place in any specific century, every building is based on historical references from the XI-XV century.
A team of oxen plowed the fields, iron was bloomed in a bloomery, and sheep were herded on open pastures governed by the Lord of the Manor...
The key to immersing yourself fully in the medieval fiefdom you rule is attention to detail.
It is the seasons that change, the weather that changes, wars, diseases, and famines that may bring about the rise or fall of towns.
A LARGE SCALE BATTLE
Without armoured soldiers duking it out on the battlefield, it wouldn't be a true medieval experience!
The goal of Manor Lords is to make battles feel realistic, including large unit formations, morale, flanking, fatigue, weather, and equipment.
Be wise with how you position your troops. A small force can defeat a large one, if it is well-commanded.
The development of cavalry and fortifications, units on walls, gunpowder, and siege engines (trebuchets!) will certainly occur in the final game.
The tech behind it
CAPTURE OF MOTION
The art direction of the game can be more shifted toward realism and immersion by combining mocap with 3D scanning.
The battles feel more natural and authentic when they are fought in this way.
PHOTOGRAMMETRY
With Quixel Megascans and hand-crafted photogrammetry, the development has been sped up significantly, but the visual fidelity has also been increased.
SIMULATION
A destruction simulation is precalculated in Houdini so that you can see the most detailed visuals, with the possibility of using real-time cutting-edge Chaos Physics in the future. The pre-fractured structures can also be used for construction in the future.
