Aurora, a fictional island chain in the Pacific Ocean, serves as the setting for the game. A player assumes the role of Lieutenant Colonel Anthony "Nomad" Perryman, a U.S. Army Special Operations Forces officer sent to Auroa to investigate disturbances involving Skell Technology. Critics gave Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint mixed reviews, and the game underperformed commercially.
Breakpoint is a tactical shooter game set in an open-world environment, like its predecessor Wildlands. It is played from a third-person perspective with an optional first-person view. In the game, players take on the role of Lieutenant Colonel Anthony "Nomad" Perryman, a member of Delta Company, First Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, also known as "Ghosts", a fictional elite special operations unit of the United States Army. Various landscapes can be used for tactical advantage in the game world of Aurora, an open-world environment. As an example, players can slide down rocky terrain and camouflage themselves with mud. Aurora is larger than Wildlands, according to Ubisoft. There are a variety of vehicles that players can control to traverse the open world.

SEAMLESS OPEN WORLD CO-OP
You can explore Auroa's miles of settlements, wilderness, and roadways freely either solo or with up to three co-op allies by controlling a wide range of land, sea, and air vehicles. Play the campaign with your friends in the new social HUB, or take part in a 4v4 PvP arena.
DESTROY YOUR EX-BROTHERS
Your helicopter is shot down when you are sent to Auroa for what appears to be a typical reconnaissance mission. The island has fallen into the wrong hands. The Wolves are a lethal ex-US military unit led by your former brother-in-arms, Colonel Cole D. Walker. They have the same training as you, the same experience, and now wield the most advanced combat drones in the world. After being injured and cut off from aid, your survival depends on exploring Auroa, finding new allies, and discovering why your former comrades turned traitors.
Gameplay
Unlike Wildlands, this game places a greater emphasis on survival. Enemies will be more numerous and the game will feature a wider range of enemy archetypes. Enemies will have access to many of the same weapons, skills, and equipment as the player can. Patrols will wander the game world looking for players as a result of the player's actions, and enemies will respond more realistically to player actions.
These changes were introduced by Ubisoft in order to make players feel like they were not the most dangerous thing in the game world anymore. Players must gather resources and use them to craft resources such as bandages. The player will have to manage their character's fatigue, hunger, and hydration in addition to performing regular weapon maintenance checks to keep the weapons functional.
In addition to slowing down, the player may also make more noise while moving if they fail to do so. In the game, the player character recovers health naturally as a result of a regenerative health system, but serious injuries will hinder their ability to perform, as they will limp and be unable to aim accurately. In order to heal themselves, players can create a bivouac shelter.

Whenever your Ghost receives damage, they may also be injured. These injuries will slow you down and reduce your combat effectiveness, requiring additional time and resources to heal them.
ADAPT TO TOUGH TERRAIN
Steep slopes will make you slip and fall, water will slow you down, and snow will plow in your wake. Properly managing your stamina will be essential to surviving and fighting back.
RECOVER FROM BIVOUACS
Manage your equipment, class, and weapons in your bivouac, and fine-tune your strategies.
BROTHERHOOD NEVER FAILS
You can quickly move to safety to help an ally who is down and needs help rather than giving them medical attention during a firefight.
EXPERIENCE FULL APPROACH FREEDOM
It's all up to you. Adapt to any situation by using a wide arsenal of tools and tricks.
BLENDING PRONE
Become a Ghost and you can disappear into your environment, making you nearly invisible to your enemies. Utilize this feature to set up an ambush or to avoid detection when you don't have a cover.
ADVANCED ENEMY AI
If detected, the Wolves and their allies will communicate amongst themselves and hunt you down. AI archetypes and behaviors vary widely, so no two encounters will be the same.
ADAPTIVE COVER
Your Ghost's body will automatically adjust to match the available cover and execute advanced tactics like leaning to aim around corners.

THE COMMON PROGRESS
All game modes and activities in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will feature your unique Ghost character. Whatever you achieve or earn will contribute to the evolution of your character, whether you're playing solo, co-op, or multiplayer. The functional and cosmetic customizations carry over, allowing you to play the way you want.

You'll be able to choose between two preset options or build your own combination after you launch the game:
